CT RASMUSSEN

BIO

C.T. Rasmussen was born in Los Angeles, California and spent most of his childhood between Flint, Michigan and Cincinnati, Ohio. C.T. went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a double major in Business in 2004. This is also where and when he discovered a love for music and writing; he had a minor in Theater which introduced him to scenery painting, and he hasn’t put down the brush ever since!

C.T. attended graduate school at Hofstra University on Long Island, majoring in Fine Art/Art Therapy. There in New York City his artwork was part of multiple group exhibits in the Chelsea District of Manhattan 2006-2008. There he became part of “The Emotionalist’s Artist Group,” an international artist movement which lead to C.T.’s first international exhibit in Copenhagen, Denmark.

C.T. continued his education in Fine Art, attending the University of South Florida in Tampa, taking part in their sculpture program. C. T. has displayed his artwork in over 30 galleries throughout the USA and in the international arena, including: Los Angeles, CA, Tampa, FL, New York City, Detroit, MI, Indiianapolis, IN, Cincinnati, OH, Portland, ME, Boston, MA, Connecticut, the Carolinas, Norfolk, VA, and Copenhagen, Denmark, where he has sold over 200 drawings, sculptures and paintings into Private Collections.

I wish to inspire the imagination of anyone who views my paintings; this determination stems from the will and desire to seek out meaning and real purpose in the 21st Century. I’ve come to realize that paint and sculpture are my best forms of communication. My strongest artistic influences have included Vincent Van Gogh, Georges Seurat, Jackson Pollock, Ad Reinhardt, and Arshile Gorky, as well as many others (the more I search, the larger the list). I’m always eager to learn about new as well as traditional techniques, I’m constantly in search of art history through books and Art Museums as I travel the country, resulting in an ability to Invent new ways to create my work with an endless search for knowledge, history, beauty, and morality…things I hold most dear such as what I hope these paintings reflect.
