Jeanne Maguire, an abstract contemporary Maine artist, is our featured artist for the month of March! Her show, Feminine Archetypes, will be on display for the entire month after her First Friday event on March 7 from 5-8pm. Her perspective is beautiful, vibrant, and expressive. The theme centers on her experience of strong women in her life and she says that “they were all people who faced obstacles with grace.” Her work is open to interpretation by the viewer. Visual techniques draw one in and the work is “purposefully ambiguous so that the observer can go in any direction to fulfill their own subjective vision on any given day.” It is interesting to find which pieces of her work resonate with the viewer! We have acrylic, mixed media, pastel, and colored pencil works on display.
